Lip Fillers Results

Below is a small sample of before and after images, used with permission, from lip filler treatments. We’ll discuss your desired appearance at your initial consultation and tailor your filler treatment to suit.

What To Expect From Your Treatment

During the treatment at our Adelaide clinic, the area is numbed with a topical cream or the injection of local anaesthetic. The type of pain relief you wish to utilise is discussed during your consultation.

The dermal filler is then injected into the lips using a small needle or cannula (most commonly needle). The injection sites are carefully chosen to achieve the desired shape and volume.

Please do not massage the treated area unless instructed, as the dermal filler remains malleable for up to two weeks after treatment.

  • Avoid saunas and extreme temperature changes.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise for the first 24 hours.
  • Avoid sleeping face-down on the treated area for the first 24 hours.
  • Avoid makeup for 12 hours.
  • Abstain from alcohol before treatment and for 24 hours afterwards.

Lip Augmentation Results

The results of lip injections can be seen immediately, and the treatment typically lasts for 6-12 months, depending on the type of dermal filler used and individual factors such as metabolism and lifestyle.

Like any cosmetic injectable procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, including bruising, swelling, and infection, but these are generally rare and temporary. All risks and complications are discussed during your consult and highlighted thoroughly throughout your consent form that you must read and understand prior to treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lip Fillers

Lip filler treatments conducted at our Adelaide clinic typically last around 6 months. This can vary depending on your own personal metabolism so unfortunately there’s no 100% accurate answer.

At our Adelaide clinic, lip filler treatments start from $495. The cost might vary based your desired results and required filler type. During your free consultation, we’ll explain the varieties of dermal fillers available and provide a breakdown of the pricing for each.

The level of pain experienced during a lip filler treatment will vary from person to person depending on how sensitive your lips are. Our nurses will provide you with numbing options at your initial consultation if you’re concerned about experiencing pain during the treatment.

We advise against getting any type of dermal filler treatment when you’re pregnant as there’s little to no research available to suggest this is safe.

Our nurses suggest you don’t drink alcohol for a minimum of 24 hours after your lip filler treatment as it can thin your blood leading to excessive bruising.

Applying lip balm after your lip filler treatment at our Adelaide clinic is fine, however to avoid the risk of introducing bacteria into the area, we recommend only using a new, previously un-opened lip balm.

As your body metabolises the lip filler over time, your lips will slowly return to their natural state. If you want to maintain the fuller appearance of your lips, we can advise of the most suitable  time periods to have your lips topped up.
